What is Career Coaching?
Career coaching is a process of equipping people with the tools, knowledge and opportunities they need to develop their own career plans. The goal of career coaching is to empower people to use their own internal strengths, resources and other assets in finding solutions to their career concerns. Career coaching is rooted in the latest career development literature and research on appreciative inquiry, positive psychology and solutions focused therapy. Simply said, career coaching helps people bridge the gap between where one is and where wants to be by engaging in a goal oriented, future focused and action oriented process.

Who are we?
All of our career coaches have education and training in career coaching philosophy and techniques, administering career assessments, researching occupations and KU majors, creating professional resumes, cover letters and CV's, conducting effective job and internship searches and mastering interviewing skills. Our career coaching staff is comprised of full time professional staff and part time graduate interns. All of our coaches have graduate level training in the field of career development.
How do you get started?
It's as easy as a phone call to get started with a career coach. Call the University Career Center (864-3624) to schedule an appointment with one of our coaches. We have a variety of career assessments
that are very helpful to students. If you are interested in taking a career assessment, you can purchase and complete the assessment before your visit so the results can be reviewed in your appointment with the coach.
