Find Education Jobs

There are a number of great resources available to help you in your search for a job in education.  Some of the best sites are listed below:

  • KU Career Connections is an online resource through which University of Kansas students and alumni can search for job and internship opportunities, post their resumes for employers to view, and sign up for on-campus interviews.
  • Kansas Teaching Jobs posts current teaching and instructional support positions in Kansas, allows applicants to apply for positions electronically and provides information on licensure, state sponsored tuition and scholarship programs, and resume assistance.
  • Missouri Teaching Jobs posts current teaching and instructional support positions in Missouri as well as contains information on upcoming recruiting fairs.  This site also links to other teaching job sites across the country, including Connecticut, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
  • International Teaching Opportunities contains resources and links to teaching opportunities abroad.
  • Additional K-12 Job Resources contains additional K-12 job listing sites and resources that may be helpful in your job search, especially if you are interested in teaching outside of the Kansas City metro area.
  • NEW! New Teacher Learning Portal (from KEEB) provides valuable support, resources, and online training for new teachers, including the How To Guides for Teachers for short, comprehensive information on common topics.

Prepare for the Job Search

When searching for a job, it's important to present yourself in a professional manner through your resume and cover letter materials, interviews, as well as at networking events.  Remember, your initial contact with a prospective employer forms a lasting impression, so make sure it is a positive one.  The UCC offers several resources and services to help you project a professional image at every stage in your job search process.  Below are links to some of these resources.

Connect with Education Employers

The University Career Center hosts a number of career fairs and events each year at which you will have the opportunity to meet prospective K-12 education employers.  These events include:

  • Education Career Fair (November 3, 2010 12:30-3:30pm) - is a good event to meet with and learn about school districts and educational organizations from Kansas, Missouri and across the country.
  • Education Interview Day (March 1, 2011 8:30am-4:00pm) - is a great event to conduct interviews with top administrators from over 80 school districts and educational organizations from across the country.
  • Education Recruiting Events Across Kansas - is a listing of additional education career fairs and interview days occurring at other colleges and universities across Kansas. If you are interested in attending any of these events, contact the university's career services office first to determine if the event is open to non-students.
