School of Social Welfare

Welcome to the
School of Social Welfare career resource page which contains customized resources and information for all KU students and alumni interested in pursuing a career in social work.

Find Social Welfare Jobs

There are a number of great resources available to help you in your search for a job in social work.  Some of the best sites are listed below:

  • KU Career Connections is an online resource for KU students and alumni to search for job and internship opportunities, post their resumes for employers to view, and sign up for on-campus interviews.
  • Kansas Works is a service of the Kansas Workforce Centers and is a centralized database of jobs in Kansas (including state government and private firms).
  • Idealist is an online resource for those seeking employment in the nonprofit sector. Idealist offers job and internship postings in addition to a large, searchable organization database and other helpful resources.
  • Nonprofit Connect offers a host of nonprofit employment resources for the Kansas City metro area, including job and internship listings, salary information, and a non-profit career guide.
  • Social and Welfare Services in Lawrence, KS lists local social services agencies and organizations in the Lawrence area as well as a link to the organization’s website.
  • Social Welfare Employer Referral List (pdf) lists agencies and organizations that have indicated an interest in receiving résumés from graduating students or alumni from KU with degrees in Social Welfare or related fields. The fact that they are listed here does not necessarily mean they have current vacancies, but they would like to consider you for any current or future opportunities.
  • Additional Social Welfare Job Resources contains additional social work job listing sites and resources that may be helpful in your job search, especially if you are interested in relocating outside of the Kansas City metro area.
