Career Education

The Career Education team works to educate KU students about the career development, planning, and implementation process. Specifically this team of professionals:
  • Assists students in researching career alternatives through career courses (PRE 210-Career and Life Planning), individualized counseling/advising, assessment instruments, group presentations, and experiential programming;
  • Guides students in developing an individualized action plan for career development;
  • Provides individual career coaching on internship and post-graduate career opportunities, graduate school planning, and job and internship search tactics; and
  • Illustrates and promotes effective job search strategies through the LA&S 492 class (Job Search Strategies for Liberal Arts & Sciences Students), individual appointments, and related career programs and workshops.

  • B.A. in Geography/History; M.A. in Counseling Education from the University of Iowa.  State of Iowa teaching license in Geography, World and American History. 
  • Focus areas: PRE 210 program coordinator, training career counselors, career development in classroom settings, international careers, career coaching, career assessments and motivating students!
  • Enjoys gardening, traveling, reading history, yoga, meditation and dancing.

  • B.A. in Psychology from the University of Kansas; M.Ed. in Educational and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri. 
  • Specialty areas: job search strategies for education and social welfare majors; career coaching; event coordination; Edwards campus liaison.  
  • Enjoys watching KU basketball and football, traveling, reading, and watching movies.

  • B.S. in Secondary English Education from Kansas State University; M.S. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Kansas (LPC); currently pursuing an M.S. in Educational Technology from The University of Kansas. 
  • Specialty areas: internships, professional image, employer networks; Delta Epsilon Iota advisor. 
  • Enjoys reading, participating in trivia tournaments, and playing with her two miniature schnauzers, Ripken and Radley.

  • B.A. in Psychology from Fort Hays State University; MS in Family Studies and Human Services from Kansas State University
  • Specialty areas:  Career Coaching, Workshop Presentations, Instructor for LA&S 492 Job Searching Class, Job Searching for Students with Disabilities, and Social Media Job Search Methods
  • Enjoys all things Star Wars, 80’s rock bands, stand-up comedy, most desserts, helping people achieve their dreams, and of course, monkeys.

  • B.A. in Spanish from The University of Kansas; B.S. in Education from The University of Kansas; M.S. in Student Counseling & Personnel Services from Kansas State University.
  • Specialty areas: Career Education, Career Counseling, Workshops & Presentations, Transitioning from high school to college, First generation students.
  • Enjoys traveling, hiking, watching KU sports, studying history, meeting people from other cultures, taking care of her pets.

  • B.S. in Psychology & certification in African American Studies from the University of Tulsa; M.S. in counseling psychology from Avila University; currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Kansas. 
  • Specialty areas: Career coaching, mock interviews, workshops & presentations.
  • Enjoys volunteering/community service, shopping, photography, music, writing, and spending time with family and friends.

  • B.A. in English and History from the Honors College of The University of West Alabama, Cum Laude; M.S.C.E. in Counseling and Psychology from The University of West Alabama; currently pursuing M.S. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Kansas. 
  • Specialty areas: Career coaching, cultural adjustment issues, counseling athletes, presentations.
  • Enjoys running, good poetry, and spending quality time with his beloved pit bull rescues, Indy and Colt.

  • B.A. in Psychology from The University of Notre Dame; currently pursuing an M.S. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas.
  • Specialty areas: Career coaching, academic planning, and academic advising.
  • Enjoys football, pool, darts, watching movies, and relaxing with friends.

  • B.M.E. in Choral Music Education with a second major in Music Theatre from Illinois State University; currently pursuing an M.M.E. in Music Therapy from The University of Kansas. State of Illinois Teaching License in Music grades K-12.
  • Specialty areas: Workforce Recruitment Program, career coaching, education, and services to students with disabilities.
  • Enjoys horseback riding, cooking, reading, performing theatre, exploring the fine arts, and drinking coffee.

  • B.A. in History from Central College in Pella, IA; currently pursuing a Master's in Higher Education Administration from The University of Kansas. 
  • Specialty areas: Career coaching, resume/CV reviews
  • Enjoys history, reading, going out with friends, being with family and movies.
