The resources of UCC’s Student Employment/Student Services (SE/SS) team connect KU students with paid part-time work opportunities that build skills and help cover educational costs. In addition, the Career Resource Library supports the entire University Career Center. The SE/SS team of trained professional and paraprofessional staff:
- Provides an inviting atmosphere for visiting students, employers, faculty, and administrators to be directed to appropriate UCC resources and staff;
- Promotes and disseminates information on part-time employment opportunities for the entire University through the use of technology 24 hours a day, seven days a week;
- Manages current and prospective employer relationships, both on-campus and in the Lawrence area and maintains strong and effective working relationships with these employers;
- Administers educational part-time employment programs including the Kansas Career Work Study program, the Youth Educational Services (YES) tutoring program and the Part-Time Jobs program (JLD);
- Administers the Reference Letter (Credential) File program primarily for education students, medical school applicants, and graduate students seeking employment as faculty in colleges and universities, sending out over 3,000 reference letter packets annually; and
- Identifies, prioritizes, and secures a range of print and multimedia resources for students, faculty, and staff.
